In loving memory of my mom, Barbara Lucile Nabess (pictured here with grandson, Nathaniel).
I will be away attending her funeral and spending time with family in the Pas, Manitoba and will return on Tuesday, November 22.
Take good care, everyone.

Peace and rest at length have come,
All the day’s long toil is past,

“The mother-child relationship is paradoxical and, in a sense, tragic. It requires the most intense love on the mother’s side, yet this very love must help the child grow away from the mother, and to become fully independent.” – Erich Fromm

Our deepest sympathies! Take care, my friend. Please call when you can.
Thank you for recently finding and following The Brahma and me. I lost my mother Barbara Jane in 1979 while I was an undergraduate student at the University of Washington. She discovered a lump in her breast and succumbed within six months. Growing up she was not only my mother but also my best friend. Thank you also for sharing your photo of your mother. Warm regards, Gabrielle
Thank you so kindly, Gabrielle. I just discovered your site this evening, am enjoying it very much and look forward to reading more of your work!
